The Belluno Christmas Market, one of the most anticipated winter events, comes to life in the charming garden of Piazza dei Martiri, the city’s true open‑air living room. For the occasion, the area transforms into a small Christmas village: wooden stalls, sparkling decorations and colourful lights create a welcoming atmosphere that invites visitors to stroll slowly and breathe in the scents of the festive season.
The “Christmas Gardens”, as the market is affectionately called, host local artisans and producers offering wool and wooden crafts, handmade decorations, original gift ideas and local gastronomic specialties from Belluno and the Veneto region. Each chalet tells a different story: that of an artisan, a tradition, an authentic flavour.
Around fifteen stalls are set up, offering a rich and varied selection. Food stands are also available, perfect for a delicious break: steaming mulled wine, warm sandwiches, thick hot chocolate and traditional sweets. On weekends, the square becomes even livelier with live music, children’s activities, creative workshops and small shows.
As tradition dictates, Christmas in Belluno wouldn’t be complete without the ice‑skating rink set up in Piazza Duomo, a symbolic place that turns into an elegant stage of ice. Here, adults and children can enjoy skating among the historic buildings of the centre, immersed in a fairytale atmosphere.
