The Pietra Castle lies on a rocky spur under the close Pale di San Martino, and it is the only castle in the Primiero area.
It has been fief of the bishops of Feltre and residence of the Welspergs. The castle had been destroyed by a fire.
Fortified garrison of Beseno Castle, Pietra Castle is one of the most important castle built on lone rocky spurs to control roads and passages among the valleys. The Autonomous Province of Trent has started a difficult restoration of the castle.

How to get
Pietra Castle is located in Calliano (TN), a few kilometers away from Rovereto Nord exit along the Brennero state road, 15 minutes from the tourist resort of Folgaria and 25 from Riva del Garda. It is easily reachable by car or by train (stop: Rovereto).
