Lúcia de Carvalho - Paesaggi Sonori

Event date 12-12-2026

A biography that already sounds like a musical geography: Angolan origins, Portuguese childhood, French adolescence and a deep passion for Brazil. Lúcia de Carvalho brings all of this into a hybrid music in which African roots coexist with Brazilian and Portuguese repertoires and with contemporary sounds drawn from reggae, funk and pop. A dancer from adolescence, then singer and songwriter, since 2009 she has developed a personal path in which rhythm and the body retain a fundamental role. Kuzola, a word that in Kimbundu means “to love”, was both an album and a documentary, born from a journey to rediscover her roots. With Pwanga! – “Light” – this research has expanded further, also thanks to her work with producer Jean Lamoot. The result is a sunny but not superficial music, built on the continuous movement between memory and the present, Africa, Europe and South America: different worlds that find a common identity in Lúcia de Carvalho’s voice.
