The new Park Visitor Centre in Paneveggio was inaugurated on 7 September 2023. The theme of the interior design is "Suona Foresta" (Sounds Forest), because it recalls the great forest that surrounds it, famous for its resonance wood. The Paneveggio Visitor Centre, with its new interior design and after major energy upgrades, aims to make the various aspects of the forest ecosystem known and to communicate them in terms of conservation and scientific knowledge.
In the incipit of one of the first panels welcoming the visitor, the meaning and dimension of these new installations is expressed: "Entering the forest is a physical act, allowing one to appreciate the harmonic complex of this sanctuary of nature. Crossing its boundary, one enters a wild world, with the trees like columns of a green vault, which rarely opens up to show the sky".
The new layouts are a true sensory immersion: as in the real forest, the light is reduced and the visitor will see trees change in dress and colour, hear the song of birds and the roaring of deer. It is possible to touch the richness of the silent inhabitants: trees, shrubs, mushrooms, mosses, lichens and flowers that provide a counterpoint to the presence of the animal communities, from the best known to the less visible but very numerous.
Outside, new artistic and communicative structures will make it possible to get information and move around independently in Paneveggio and the surrounding areas.
