The Lago dei Caprioli, located at 1,280 metres above Pellizzano in the Val di Sole, is one of the most charming alpine lakes in Trentino. Surrounded by forests and peaceful mountain scenery, itâs an ideal destination for a walk, a picnic, or a family outing, as well as a starting point for mediumâaltitude hikes.
This artificial lake lies in Fazzon and is easy to reach by car: from Pellizzano, a 5âkm paved road with several switchbacks leads to the large parking area near the lake.
Those who prefer walking can reach the Lago dei Caprioli via the enchanting Gnomesâ Trail, a themed path featuring wooden and stone sculptures inspired by forest gnomes. The trail begins at the second hairpin bend on the road to Fazzon and first leads to Malga Bassa, home to the Park Visitor Centre, before continuing up to the lake. Walking time is about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on pace.
Immersed in nature and easily accessible, the Lago dei Caprioli is a perfect destination for anyone seeking tranquillity, fresh air, and an authentic corner of Val di Sole.
