The Trattes Loop is a delightful circular hike starting from the charming Bad Bergfall inn, nestled in the greenery of Valdaora. From the very first steps along trail no. 3, the path winds through fragrant conifer forests, offering glimpses of the Plan de Corones and the Puster Valley. The ascent is gentle and steady, making it ideal for those seeking a relaxing walk enriched by alpine views.
At Trattes, at 1,557 m, the landscape opens up to reveal sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. The descent follows trail no. 4A, leading directly to the Oberegger Alm, a historic mountain hut dating back to the 16th century and protected as a cultural heritage site. With its sunny terrace and traditional stube, it is the perfect place to pause and enjoy South Tyrolean specialties prepared with local products.
After this rewarding break, the route continues along trail no. 4, gently returning to the starting point at Bad Bergfall.
The entire loop is short and accessible, suitable even for families and less experienced hikers, yet rich in atmosphere thanks to its blend of nature, culture, and gastronomy.
