This easy hike is perfect for anyone wishing to enjoy a wide‑ranging view over southwestern Trentino, from the Trentino Prealps to the Brenta Dolomites and the glaciers of Adamello and Presanella. The route starts at Passo Durone, easily reached by car from Tione, near the bar‑restaurant. From here, follow the gravel forest road branching off to the left of Provincial Road 222.
After about 250 metres, leave the forest road and take the SAT 463 mule track on the left, leading toward Malga Stabio. The path crosses a charming section marked by a small rock niche dedicated to Saint Anthony Abbot, then rejoins the forest road previously abandoned.
The trail continues with gentle gradients until it reaches Malga Stabio, set in a beautiful green basin with a small pond at its centre. From here, the view opens onto an extraordinary panorama: the peaks of Carè Alto, Presanella, and, to the east, Cima Sèra with its summit cross.
Those wishing to extend the hike can continue up to Cima Sèra (1908 m). From the malga, cross the meadow southeastward to the forest and the Piazzola pass (20 minutes). From the pass, the trail turns left and climbs the northern slope: a more demanding section requiring about 1 hour and 20 minutes of additional ascent, rewarded by even broader views of the surrounding mountains.
