The Brixner Hütte (2,282 m) is located on the South Tyrolean side of the Zillertal Alps, in the heart of the Fundres Mountains, and is an ideal destination for a panoramic hike in the Valle di Valles. The shortest and most scenic route starts from Vals, precisely from the Fane Alm, one of the most picturesque alpine villages in South Tyrol.
The trail begins on a gravel path that crosses the charming alpine hamlet of Fane, with its traditional wooden huts, barns, and a small church with unique charm. From there, the hike continues along trail no. 17, following the Valler stream up to the waterfalls. The path then rises gently through forests and alpine meadows, leading to the Brixner Hütte, where breathtaking views over the Valle di Valles await.
Parking
The starting point of the hike is the Fane Alm parking area (paid). If the parking lot is full, a convenient shuttle service operates from the Berg am Boden parking area, ensuring easy access to the alpine pasture.
