The Forra di Sorgazza–Cengello Walk is a nature trail ideal from April to October, perfect for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the quiet forests of the Lagorai. The starting point is located near the small church of Val Malene, in the municipality of Pieve Tesino, easily reached from the SS47 Valsugana road: travellers coming from Trento can exit at Strigno, while those arriving from Bassano del Grappa should take the Grigno exit. From there, continue towards Castello Tesino and then follow the signs leading up to the green Val Malene.
The route, classified as easy and therefore suitable for everyone, winds through cool, shaded woods where the sound of water accompanies every step. The path overlooks the gorges carved by the Grigno stream, which in this section forms small waterfalls, crystal‑clear pools and scenic corners set among the rocks. The constant presence of water makes the walk especially pleasant on warmer days.
As you progress, the view opens towards the impressive Cima d’Asta massif, dominating the valley with its granite silhouette. It is one of the most striking moments of the hike: the contrast between the dense forest, the deep ravines and the mountain rising in the background creates a truly memorable scene.
The return follows the same route, with a modest elevation gain and a total distance of about 8.8 km, taking roughly 3 hours. It is a perfect itinerary for families, relaxed walkers and nature lovers seeking an immersive yet non‑demanding experience.
