The snowshoe hike from the Alpe di Villandro to the Corno del Renon is a panoramic winter excursion starting at the Gasserhütte mountain hut (1774 m) and leading up to the summit of the Corno del Renon (2270 m). Along the way, you pass alpine huts and scenic viewpoints with spectacular vistas of the Dolomites and the Sarntal Alps, with opportunities to stop at traditional refuges.
Itinerary
- From the Gasserhütte hut, follow the marked winter trail towards Malga Mair in Plun (Moar in Plun).
- Continue along the groomed path to the Sella dei Sentieri, a wide saddle offering open views.
- From there, follow the signposted winter trail leading directly to the Corno del Renon.
- Return: retrace the same route, with possible stops at huts along the way.
During the ascent, the panorama opens onto the Dolomites (Odle, Puez, Sella, Sassolungo, Sciliar, Catinaccio) and, to the west, the Ortles‑Cevedale Group, Presanella, Brenta Dolomites and Stubai Alps.
