Halsl Snowshoe Hike

The Halsl snowshoe hike is a medium-difficulty winter excursion in Val di Funes, starting from the Eistilboden parking lot and leading to Halsl Hut via Schatzer Hut and the wide meadows of the Piskoierböden. It is a scenic route offering splendid views of the Odle and the Plose.

Ascent

  • From the Eistilboden parking lot, follow trail no. 9.
  • Cross the Piskoierböden, wide snow-covered meadows that offer open and evocative views.
  • Reach the Schatzer Hut (Schatzerhütte), an ideal stop with a sunny terrace and views of the Odle.
  • Continuing along the trail, you arrive at the Halsl Hut (Halslhütte), located just below Passo delle Erbe at 1919 m.

Descent

  • From the Halsl Hut, descend along trail no. 10, which leads back to the Eistilboden parking lot.
  • The descent is faster but requires caution, especially in icy conditions.

How to get there

  • From Val d’Isarco reach Chiusa, then continue into Val di Funes up to S. Pietro.
  • From there take the road towards Passo delle Erbe until Ponte Russis.
  • At the junction turn left and continue for about 1.5 km to the Eistilboden parking lot.
