The Kirchbachkreuz is one of the most fascinating peaks above Naturno, in the heart of South Tyrol, offering a demanding trek suitable only for experienced hikers. The ascent begins in Naturno, following trail no. 6 to the Schnatzhof. From there, the path becomes steep, crossing sparse larch woods and leaving the forest behind.
The route grows increasingly challenging, passing the picturesque Shepherd’s Hut (Schäferhütte), before reaching the mountain ridge. From here, breathtaking views open up over the Val Venosta and the Texel Group.
The descent leads across scree and alpine pastures to the Obere Mairalm (approx. 1.5 hours). From there, the trail continues down to the Dickeralm, the Dickhof farm, and finally to Campaccio, completing an unforgettable alpine adventure.
