The hike from Rablà to the Naturno Alpine Hut and Monte San Vigilio begins at the valley station of the Rio Lagundo cable car. The ascent leads to the small village of Rio Lagundo, which serves as the starting point of the route.
Trail no. 27 continues through the dense conifer forests of Monte Tramontana, reaching the Naturno Alpine Hut at 1,910 meters. Beyond the tree line, the route follows trail no. 9b, crossing the Colle Scabro on the Val d’Ultimo side, until the junction with trail no. 9.
Turning left, the path becomes mostly level with gentle descents, leading to the plateau of Monte San Vigilio at 1,793 meters. The area is notable for the San Vigilio chapel and several inns offering opportunities for rest.
The descent to Rio Lagundo can be made along trail no. 28, alternating between flat sections and short climbs, or via the wider and easier forest road. The hike concludes with the return to Rablà, using the cable car and public transport connections to Naturno.
