In the magnificent setting of Val Canali, one of the most evocative valleys in the Dolomites, this route becomes an easy and panoramic MTB tour, ideal for beginners or for anyone looking for a relaxing ride immersed in nature. The itinerary follows the Muse Fedaie thematic trail, starting from the historic Villa Welsperg, headquarters of the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park.
From the parking area next to the Villa, the route immediately takes a smooth gravel road, once used by agricultural carts: compact terrain, gentle gradients and a natural environment that alternates meadows, forests and wetlands. The track continues to the locality known as Il Cacciatore, where a small bridge introduces the most characteristic section of the tour.
After crossing the bridge, turn right through a parking area and follow the MTB signs. After about one kilometre, you reach the paved road leading towards Piereni. Here, continue to the right, cross the bridge over the Canali Stream, and then turn right again at the next junction.
A short climb leads to a left‑hand turn that reconnects with the Muse Fedaie trail. The route continues along a flat, very rideable section up to kilometre 3.2, where a narrower path leads directly to the shores of Lake Welsperg, one of the most iconic spots in the valley.
The return follows the cycle‑pedestrian path running alongside the main road, offering a smooth and easy finish to the loop and bringing you back to the Villa in just a few minutes.
