Mountain bike itineraries: Under the Catinaccio

A route that blends authentic nature, Dolomite panoramas, and local history.

Cycling at the foot of the Catinaccio means immersing yourself in one of the most iconic landscapes of the Dolomites. The itinerary starts in Tires, a small alpine village nestled between forests and rocky walls, and leads to the charming Presule Castle, crossing the pristine scenery of the Alpe di Siusi and the Sciliar–Catinaccio Nature Park.

The route covers about 30 km, with 1,000 meters of elevation gain and an average duration of 5 hours, ideal for well‑trained bikers seeking a complete experience that combines nature and culture.

The ride ends at Presule Castle, an elegant Renaissance residence overlooking the basin of Fiè allo Sciliar. After the effort of the climb, the castle offers a perfect moment of rest surrounded by art, history, and panoramic views.
