Monte Maggio Ascent

A route that blends historical memory and adrenaline, perfect for riders who love pedaling through nature and high‑altitude trails. The ride starts from the gravel square at Crocicchio dei Camini, where an old military road begins — ideal for mountain biking thanks to its compact surface, steady gradient, and panoramic views opening gradually over the Val di Terragnòlo and the Pasubio massif.

The climb to Dosso delle Cargaore offers spectacular scenery and moderate technical sections, perfect for those seeking an XC or all‑mountain experience. Continuing along the right side of the valley, the route passes near Mount Maronia and reaches the summit of Monte Maggio. The final stretch turns into a single track with some exposed passages — requiring focus and good bike control. The effort is rewarded by breathtaking views and the iron cross commemorating the fallen soldiers of World War I.

For the return, follow the same route at first, then turn onto the northern slope: a smoother, more playful section with descents through spruce woods and old pastures leading to Passo Coe. From there, a short asphalt ride brings you back to the starting point.
