Walk to the Max Valier Astronomical Observatory

An ideal walk for families: simple, scenic, and leading to the important Max Valier Astronomical Observatory, the heart of Europe’s first Astro Village.

From the Schenken car park (Lantschnay bus stop), follow the road to the right towards Hotel Alpenrose and continue along a comfortable paved path, also suitable for strollers, which leads directly to the observatory and the adjacent Peter Anich Solar Observatory. Along the way, you will encounter several installations from the Planet Trail, a themed route that reproduces the solar system on a reduced scale.

Once at the observatory, you can enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and, on opening days, join evening guided tours. A short distance away is the Untereggerhof, offering refreshments, a playground, and a small educational farm.

Return along the same route.

Best time to visit: all year round.
