The Glittner See – or Lé de Rina – is one of the most charming and peaceful alpine lakes in the Luson area. A small natural gem set among high‑altitude pastures, far from the more crowded routes, where silence and the Dolomite panorama create a truly special atmosphere. The hike is easy, scenic, and perfect for anyone seeking an authentic mountain experience.
Starting point: Oberflitt car park (Luson)
From Luson, drive to the hamlet of Flitt and continue to the Oberflitt car park, the starting point of the itinerary.
Route: across alpine huts, pastures, and breathtaking views
1. From the car park to the Glittner Ställe
From the parking area, follow the forest road along trail no. 10, which gently climbs eastward. After a stretch through open pastures, you reach the characteristic Glittner Ställe, old alpine huts set in a sunny, open landscape.
2. Towards the panoramic Glittner Joch
Continue along the fence until you reach the Glittner Joch, a panoramic saddle ideal for a break. A bench invites you to stop and enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains, with the Sass de Putia dominating the horizon.
3. Descent to the romantic Glittner See
From the saddle, a short descent on the south‑eastern slope leads to the Glittner See (2151 m), a romantic and pristine alpine lake. Its calm waters reflect the pastures and Dolomite peaks, creating a perfect setting for photos and moments of pure relaxation.
Return: Wieseralm and Astalm
For the return, follow trail 10/11S, which crosses the Glittner Joch again and leads to the welcoming Wieseralm, ideal for a refreshing break.
Continue along trail no. 10 to the Astalm, another traditional alpine hut surrounded by high‑mountain meadows. From here, trail no. 2 descends to the alpine road that brings you comfortably back to the starting car park.
