The Gsindboden educational and nature trail is a circular route that combines nature, culture, and breathtaking views. From the panoramic platform in the clearing, you can enjoy spectacular vistas over the valley’s apple orchards and vineyards, the high-altitude farms on Monte Sole, and the imposing glaciers closing off the Val Senales. Along the way, information panels illustrate the cultural heritage of the Lower Val Venosta, the famous discovery of Ötzi, and daily life among vines, apple trees, and eternal ice.
The ideal starting point is the hamlet of Cirlano, easily reached from Naturno with Citybus no. 264. From here, the route follows a paved road surrounded by meadows and orchards until the Ramilia restaurant. The trail then climbs gently through shady woods, passes the gallery of a quartz mine, and leads to a picturesque spot perfect for a rest.
You then reach the Gsindboden clearing, where the view opens onto an unforgettable landscape. The descent continues through mixed forests to the Tschirlander Heide heath, rich in beautiful plants and flowers. Shortly afterwards, the path returns to the starting point.
Those wishing to extend the hike can walk back to Naturno: from Cirlano, follow the road to the Adige bridge, then continue along the riverside trail and via Stazione (about 45 minutes extra).
