The Nature Trail Urlesteig in Reinswald

The Urlesteig nature trail, located in the hiking area of Reinswald in the Sarentino Valley, offers an immersive outdoor experience designed for the whole family. The trail is divided into six themed sections, with elevation drops ranging from 70 to 560 meters — all downhill.

The trail starts at the upper station of the Reinswald cablecar and ends at the upper station of the same cable car.

Along the way, interactive panels and playful installations reveal fascinating facts about alpine wildlife — such as why the alpine hare has short ears or how far a squirrel can jump. Children can climb a giant dragonfly, raft across a small pond, and navigate a maze made of mountain pine.

The route features stories from local shepherds, legends like the “Urlelockn,” and insights into the region’s flora and fauna. This year’s highlight is the gold washing station at Chrust Gepatsch Alpine hut, adding a touch of mining adventure to the hike.
