The Alta Val di Non cycle path is a panoramic loop of about 25 km that connects some of the most characteristic villages of the plateau, crossing meadows, apple orchards, and historic town centres. Updated information confirms that the route runs on paved or asphalted roads, with a flatter western side and steeper climbs on the eastern side, for a total elevation gain of around 450 metres.
The ideal starting point is Malgolo, a hamlet of Romeno, where a convenient car park is located near the first section of the cycle path. From here, the route follows the SS43, retracing the old Trento–Malé railway and crossing the meadows of the Romeno valley.
A short climb leads to the village of Salter, which the cycle path crosses along its historic streets. Continuing on, the route opens into apple orchards and cultivated fields until reaching Cavareno, passing by the sports centre and the historic core of the village.
The ride continues towards Sarnonico, Ronzone, and Malosco, alternating green stretches with passages through inhabited areas. From Malosco, the route descends towards Fondo, a village known for its rocky canyons and spectacular viewpoints.
Beyond Fondo, the path enters the Pradiei area, a wide and bright grassy plain that represents one of the most scenic sections of the entire loop. This is also where the Dolomiti Golf Club, one of the most renowned golf courses in Trentino, is located.
Crossing these flat meadows, the route gradually returns towards Romeno, closing the loop near the bridge on the state road, which serves as a connection between the two sides of the itinerary.
