The cross-country ski trail from Halsl to Passo delle Erbe is a scenic medium-difficulty route that unfolds at the foot of the impressive Sass de Putia massif, along a road closed to traffic in winter and perfectly groomed for skiers.
Route Description
- The trail starts from Eores, a hamlet above Bressanone, and follows the forest road, closed to traffic in winter.
- It crosses snow-covered woods and clearings until reaching Gunggan, a panoramic intermediate point.
- From here, continue towards Passo delle Erbe (Würzjoch), at the foot of the Sass de Putia, one of the most imposing and recognizable Dolomite massifs.
- The return follows the same route, with possible short variants towards local loops such as the Roda de Börz.
How to Get There
- From Val d’Isarco, reach Bressanone, then continue up to Eores.
- Alternatively, from Chiusa continue into Val di Funes up to S. Pietro, then take the road to Passo delle Erbe until Ponte Russis, from where you can also access the ski trail.
Practical Tip
- The trail is regularly groomed with a snowcat, suitable for both classic technique and skating.
- It is advisable to start in the morning to enjoy the best light on the Dolomites and allow time for stops at mountain huts.
