The 100 km dei Forti is the ultimate challenge to test your strength, endurance and determination. This race is the highlight of the event and crosses the most spectacular areas of the Alpe Cimbra.
Route
The route starts from Parco Palù in Lavarone Cappella. After 3.4 km of gentle ascent, riders face the first climb to Monte Belem (1.7 km, 85 m elevation gain). A short descent follows before the climb to Passo Vezzena.
From the junction for Malga Basson, the course takes the Lusern-Roana cycle path to Malga Millegrobbe di Sopra, then continues along the Bear Trail to Malga Campo, descends to Luserna, and climbs again to Malga Millegrobbe.
Descending towards Malga Laghetto, the route follows a scenic forest road through Luserna and continues down to Tezze. It then proceeds along a fire road to Masetti and returns to Malga Laghetto, where the ascent to Monte Tablat begins. Riders then pass Magrè, Passo Cost, Forte Belvedere, Oseli, Masi di Sotto, and Malga Pozze before reaching Lake Lavarone and Prà di Sopra.
Here, near Carbonare, the two routes divide:
The Classic continues towards the former Austro-Hungarian Command and, with gentle ups and downs, reaches the finish line in Lavarone Gionghi.
The Marathon heads instead towards Forte Cherle, the Emperor’s Staircase, and the former Military Hospital, then reaches Forte Sommo Alto. The trail continues to Passo Coe, Forte Dosso delle Somme, descends near Serrada and Mezzaselva, climbs to Francolini, Costa, Maso Spilzi, and Passo Sommo, before crossing Perpruneri, Tezzeli, Cueli, Morganti, and Carbonare.
The former Austro-Hungarian Command marks the almost final stretch: just 5 km of rolling terrain separate you from the finish line at Lavarone Gionghi.
