Embark on a fascinating journey into the mining history of the Dolomites. The ancient Fursil Mines, located at the foot of Mount Pelmo, tell centuries of stories about mining, local life and legends. In Colle Santa Lucia, two guided tours offer the chance to explore this unique site, where culture, nature and industrial archaeology come together.
Miner's Tour – Short Route
Perfect for visitors looking for an introduction to the area's mining heritage. The tour begins with a visit to the miner's room at the Ladin Institute "Cesa de Jan", followed by a short minibus transfer to the Vauz Mine. The visit continues inside the mine gallery with an expert guide.
When: Every Thursday at 9:00 am, 9:45 am and 10:30 am (advance booking required)
Meeting point: Ladin Institute "Cesa de Jan", Colle Santa Lucia
Duration: Approximately 2 hours (including return minibus transfer)
Participants: 7–15 people

Along the Iron Trails – Long Route
A guided hiking tour from Colle Santa Lucia to the Fursil Mines, following the historic paths once used by miners. Along the way, participants will discover the area's mining history, local culture and natural environment.
When: Tuesdays – 4, 11, 18 and 25 August, and 1 September
Departure: 8:30 am from Piazza di Colle Santa Lucia
Return: Around 1:00 pm
Distance: 6 km
Elevation gain: 170 m
Participants: Minimum 12, maximum 20 people
Booking: Required by the previous day

Please note: The route includes an exposed section and is not suitable for people who suffer from vertigo. In case of bad weather, the excursion will be cancelled and participants will be notified.
