Skiing in Plan de Corones in the Dolomiti Superski

The Plan de Corones/Kronplatz Ski Area, South Tyrol’s No. 1 ski mountain, is part of Dolomiti Superski and offers more than 125 km of slopes and 32 lifts, with runs suitable for every level.

From the panoramic summit of Plan de Corones, the slopes descend towards Brunico, Valdaora and San Vigilio di Marebbe, offering wide runs and spectacular views of the Dolomites.

Experienced skiers can take on the five black runs Sylvester, Herrnegg, Pre da Peres, Erta and Piculin. The Erta slope, in particular, hosts a women’s Alpine Ski World Cup event. The ski area is also popular with snowboarders and freestyle enthusiasts thanks to its snowpark, which also features areas designed for families.

New features for winter 2026/2027

Winter season: 28/11/2026–11/04/2027

The 2026/2027 winter season brings major new additions to Kronplatz, with new lifts and even more modern and comfortable slopes.

• Kronplatz 1+2: a new 10-seater gondola with increased capacity, higher speed and ski transport directly inside the cabins. The new lift also reduces energy consumption and introduces a new layout of the slopes.
• Ruis Gondola: a new 8-seater lift, faster and more comfortable, with skis transported inside the cabins and state-of-the-art safety systems.
• Dolomiti Chairlift: a new 8-seater chairlift with heated seats and backrests, protective covers and a boarding conveyor with a lifting platform, making access easier for children.
• Lumen, Weiden and Dolomiti slopes: new and upgraded runs further expand the ski offering. The red Lumen slope is approximately 2.7 km long, while the blue Weiden provides a new connection of around 650 metres. The new blue Dolomiti slope, approximately 1.5 km long, is particularly suitable for beginners and skiers looking for a relaxed and scenic descent.

Connections to Alta Badia and Three Peaks Dolomites

Plan de Corones is connected to other major ski areas within Dolomiti Superski.

The Connecting Skiers ski bus provides access to Alta Badia, connecting the Sponata stop with the Piculin gondola. The Ski-Pustertal-Express train, meanwhile, reaches Versciaco and the lifts of the Three Peaks Dolomites ski area in just over half an hour.

With a Dolomiti Superski ski pass, you can access all participating ski areas and enjoy a winter holiday surrounded by some of the most beautiful mountains in the Dolomites.

How to reach Plan de Corones

Thanks to its central location in Val Pusteria, Kronplatz is easy to reach by car, train and bus.

By car: from Bolzano, take the A22 Brenner motorway to the Bressanone/Val Pusteria exit, then continue along the SS49-E66 towards Brunico, Valdaora and the surrounding resorts. From Venice, take the A27 towards Cadore and continue along the SS51 Alemagna towards Dobbiaco and Val Pusteria.

By train: rail connections serve the main towns in the valley, including Brunico, San Lorenzo, Perca and Valdaora. From Brunico, local buses connect to the other resorts.

By bus: Brunico is the main public transport hub, with connections to the resorts around Plan de Corones and local city bus services.

By plane: Bolzano, Verona, Bergamo, Treviso, Venice, Innsbruck and Munich airports offer convenient options for reaching South Tyrol.

Sustainability at Plan de Corones

At Plan de Corones, enjoying the mountains also means taking care of them. Surrounded by forests, ski slopes and breathtaking Dolomite scenery, sustainability is an integral part of the experience, with solutions designed to reduce environmental impact and protect the local landscape.

Snowmaking is managed using modern technology to produce only the amount of snow that is actually needed. Water comes mainly from reservoirs replenished during the spring snowmelt, helping to reduce the use of local water resources.

The ski area also focuses on renewable energy. Green electricity powers the lifts and snowmaking systems, while photovoltaic panels, pellet-powered district heating and heat recovery help improve overall energy efficiency.

Particular attention is also paid to landscape protection and biodiversity. Seeds collected at high altitude are used to restore vegetation and support the preservation of native plant species.

Getting to Plan de Corones can also be a more sustainable experience. Thanks to rail connections and direct links to the lifts, the mountain can be reached without a car. The railway station at Perca is directly connected to the Ried valley station.
