Destinations: Plan de Corones ski area

Skiing in Plan de Corones in the Dolomiti Superski

The Plan de Corones, part of the Dolomiti Superski area, is located in Val Pusteria and in winter becomes a true skiing paradise 121 kilometers of slopes served by 31 state-of-the-art lifts. The long, wide and calm descents leave from the rounded top of the Plan de Corones and lead to the valley, near the surrounding villages: San Vigilio di Marebbe, Brunico and Valdaora.

Plan de Corones also satisfies the most demanding skiers thanks to its 5 black slopes (Sylvester, Herrnegg, Pre da Peres, Erta, and Piculin). Among them, the Erta slope hosts a stage of the Women’s Ski World Cup in the giant slalom discipline. The Kronplatz is also highly appreciated by snowboard and freestyle enthusiasts, who can enjoy a well-equipped snowpark, including a dedicated family line.

Connections with other ski areas

The Plan de Corones ski area is perfectly connected to other Dolomiti Superski resorts. Thanks to the “Connecting Skiers” skibus, it is easy to reach Alta Badia: the service connects the Sponata stop with the Piculin cable car, starting from Piccolino and arriving at Piz de Plaies, allowing skiers to move between resorts without using a car.

There is also a direct connection to the Three Peaks Dolomites: the Ski-Pustertal-Express train takes just over half an hour from the valley station of the Ried lift at Plan de Corones to Versciaco station, directly linked to the Monte Elmo lifts.

With a single Dolomiti Superski skipass, you can ski across all these resorts, part of the largest ski network in the Dolomites.
