Parcines Waterfall

The Parcines Waterfall is located near the village of Parcines, just a short distance from the famous spa town of Merano in South Tyrol. Its importance lies not only in its striking beauty, but also in the height of its drop: an impressive 97 metres, making it the highest waterfall in South Tyrol.

For this reason, the Parcines Waterfall is a must‑see destination for anyone hiking in the Merano area, and in summer it also offers climbing enthusiasts a wide rock face to challenge themselves on.

The waterfall is fed by the Rio Ziel, which flows over rocky steps before plunging almost 100 metres into the valley.

This spectacular natural sight becomes even more impressive during the snowmelt, when melting snow and ice greatly increase the water volume.

The landscape surrounding the Parcines Waterfall belongs to the beautiful Texel Group Nature Park, the largest of South Tyrol’s seven nature parks, offering countless opportunities for hiking, nature exploration, and the chance to discover rare animal and plant species.
