Lake Valagola, located in the territory of Stenico and within the Adamello‑Brenta Nature Park, is one of the most peaceful and evocative places in the Brenta Dolomites. Unlike the more famous lakes of Val Rendena, this small alpine lake lies on the opposite side, in a quiet and little‑visited side valley dominated by the impressive walls of Cima Tosa, one of the most beloved peaks among mountaineers.
Situated at around 1,595 metres above sea level, Lake Valagola covers more than 40,000 m², with clear waters that reflect the surrounding spruce and larch forests and the Dolomite peaks. Its origin is linked to an ancient natural dam, which created an environment rich in biodiversity, home to alpine plant species and small aquatic fauna.
