Ascent
The starting point is the Zannes car park (1680 m), a classic access point for many excursions in the Val di Funes. Follow trail no. 25 along the Kaserillbach stream, crossing snowy woods and clearings. After crossing the stream, you reach the Gampen meadows (Gampenwiese), wide clearings offering splendid views of the Odle peaks.
The route continues gently up to the Gampen Alm (2065 m), located in a panoramic hollow at the foot of the Dolomites of Funes. The ascent is easy and regular, with a difference in altitude of about 390 m and a duration of 1h 20min.
Descent
The descent follows the same itinerary. From the meadows of the Gampen Alm, ski or walk down wide and regular slopes, ideal for smooth and enjoyable turns. Near the Kaserillbach stream, the terrain becomes gentler and easier, perfect for a relaxed descent.
Many hikers choose to return with a sled, using the track that connects the Gampen Alm to the Zannes car park or down to Santa Maddalena/Ranui.
How to get there
From the Val d’Isarco, reach Chiusa/Klausen, then continue into the Val di Funes up to Zannes. Parking: Zannes (1680 m), paid.
