An immersive experience among silent forests, wide snow-covered meadows, and breathtaking Dolomite views.
Experiencing winter in the Dolomites has never felt so authentic: this easy Nordic walking excursion across the Cherz Plateau leads through a fairytale landscape, where fresh snow, coniferous woods, and open clearings alternate in an unspoiled natural setting.
Located between Corvara, La Villa, and San Cassiano, the vast Cherz Plateau offers a 360° panorama of the surrounding Dolomites, with spectacular views of the Marmolada Glacier, the Sella Group, and the peaks of Alta Badia. An ideal route for anyone seeking a relaxing, scenic, and accessible winter activity.
The excursion begins at Passo Campolongo, reachable by car or bus. From the pass, descend for about 100 meters along the provincial road towards Corvara, until you reach a large boulder marking the start of trail no. 3.
Route
Follow the trail northeast, crossing the Cherz ski slope.
The path climbs along the edge of the slope, crosses it after about 100 meters, and enters the forest.
Once you reach the upper forest edge, continue north toward the Forceles meadows.
Keeping the same direction, through clearings and woodland, you reach Passo Inzija and finally the Cherz Plateau, a natural balcony overlooking the Dolomites.
Return
The return follows the same route as the ascent.
