The route begins at the parking area near Lake Mein Dörfl in Resia, an ideal starting point for Nordic Walking thanks to its open spaces and immediate access to the surrounding trails. From here, the path gently climbs toward the Castelletto, crossing meadows and clearings with beautiful views of the King Ortles massif.
Once you reach the Val Roja provincial road, cross it and follow the track leading to the Pofel ski lift, keeping a steady and intuitive direction. The route then continues along the small road to Maso Tenders, a traditional alpine farmhouse still perfectly integrated into the rural landscape of the valley.
After crossing the main road, the trail rises along a narrow path that skirts the military barracks and leads to one of the most fascinating points of the excursion: the source of the Adige River, the longest river in South Tyrol. Here the environment becomes quieter and more natural, ideal for walkers who enjoy maintaining a steady rhythm immersed in alpine tranquility.
Continue along trail no. 2, which soon connects to trail no. 1. The route remains smooth and well marked until the junction for Maso Clopai, where you turn left and tackle a short ascent on a gravel road. A brief descent then leads to the junction for the Salg trail, a natural balcony overlooking Lake Resia.
From Salg, the route continues toward the village of Curon, reaching the area just before the small church of Sant’Anna. After passing the cemetery, the path descends toward the iconic submerged bell tower in Lake Resia, a symbol of the region and an unmissable stop for every visitor.
The final stretch of the loop follows the northern shore of the lake, a flat and pleasant section perfect for maintaining a steady walking pace, eventually returning to the starting point in Resia.
