Valsorda Enduro Trail

The Valsorda Enduro Trail is one of the most thrilling MTB routes in the San Martino di Castrozza area — a ride that blends high‑altitude panoramas, flowing descents and technical sections immersed in the wild nature of the Vanoi Valley. It’s the perfect trail for riders seeking adventure, flow and authentic mountain landscapes in the heart of the Dolomites.

From the Top of Alpe Tognola to the Valsorda

Your day begins with the Tognola Cable Car, which quickly takes you to the upper station — the official starting point of the trail. From here, a forest road leads toward Malga Tognola, crossing the panoramic meadows of Scandola and the traditional Masi di Tognola.

Continuing along the ridge, you reach the small Valsorda forest hut, where the trail becomes more dynamic:

  • smooth and flowing sections,
  • wooden bridges and boardwalks,
  • more technical but always enjoyable stretches.

A perfect mix for enduro enthusiasts.

Descent to Caoria

From the hut, the trail continues toward Caoria, following the forest road that gently drops to 860 m in the valley. Here, several options open up to extend your ride or return toward Primiero and San Martino.

Three Return Options

1) Toward Lake Calaita and back to San Martino

From Caoria, ride to Canal San Bovo and climb toward Lake Calaita, one of the most scenic viewpoints over the Pale di San Martino. A forest road through the woods then leads comfortably back to San Martino di Castrozza.

2) Passo Gobbera and the Via Nova to Fiera di Primiero

From Canal San Bovo you can also climb to Passo Gobbera. From the pass, the historic Via Nova trail begins, crossing the villages of Primiero and ending in Fiera di Primiero. For the return:

  • public transport,
    or
  • for stronger riders, a climb to Pezze Alte and a forest road passing Dismoni and Malga Crel back to San Martino.

3) Easy return by public transport

The simplest option: from Caoria you can return to San Martino di Castrozza by public transport — ideal on demanding days or for those who want to enjoy the descent without extra effort.

Summer Guided Tours

In July and August, every Thursday, local MTB guides offer a group ride — a great opportunity to discover the trail safely, improve your riding skills and share the experience with other enthusiasts.
