The Val Costa Tour is a short but atmospheric MTB loop, perfect for riders who want to explore traditional farmsteads, fragrant forests and open meadows around San Vigilio di Marebbe. It’s a smooth and enjoyable route, suitable even for less experienced bikers, with a mix of asphalt, gravel and forest trails.
From San Vigilio to the Torpei farmhouses
The tour starts in the centre of San Vigilio / Al Plan. A gentle climb leads toward the area of the Hotel Paraccia, where the paved road begins and heads up to the Torpei farmhouses. The landscape gradually opens over the surrounding meadows, offering a pleasant and steady warm‑up.
Across meadows and woods to Noares and Chi Vai
After Torpei, the route turns right and enters the meadows and woods of Noares, a cool and scenic section. The trail continues up to the upper part of the Miara slope, in the area known as Chi Vai, where the view becomes wider and brighter.
After crossing a small stream, the ride continues toward Val dla Tor, a smooth forest section that invites a steady rhythm.
Costa and the descent to Ras
Reaching the hamlet of Costa, the tour changes pace: a fun descent begins, with wide, flowing switchbacks cutting through open meadows. It’s an enjoyable and never too technical stretch, ideal for letting the bike run.
Once in Ras, the loop closes with an easy return to San Vigilio.
