Ski Mountaineering to Monte Gabler

Ascent 

The starting point is the Eistillboden car park. Follow the path along the small stream towards the Halslhütte refuge. From here, climb to the right until reaching the trail that leads to the Grenziana/Enzianhütte refuge. Continue left for a short stretch and then turn right, crossing the wide slopes of Monte Forca Grande (Gabler) until reaching the panoramic summit at 2575 m.

Descent 

The descent follows the southwest slope towards the Schatzer hut. From here, take the path to the left, return to the Halslhütte refuge, and follow the ascent route back to the Eistillboden car park. The slopes are wide and regular, ideal for smooth and enjoyable turns, with splendid views of the Odle peaks and the Sass de Putia.

How to get there 

From the Val d’Isarco reach Chiusa/Klausen, then continue into the Val di Funes up to San Pietro. From there, take the road towards the Passo delle Erbe. At Ponte Russis, turn left towards Plose, until reaching the Eistillboden car park.
