This is a short circular walk, very easy and charming, that crosses the picturesque village of Santa Maddalena in Val di Funes and leads to the famous Church of Santa Maddalena, one of the most photographed places in the Dolomites. The itinerary is also ideal in winter thanks to its simple and well-marked path.
Directions
- Start from the central square of Santa Maddalena. The trail leads towards the Fallerhof farm.
- Gentle ascent to the Kaserotthof farm. Walk slightly uphill until you reach the Church of Santa Maddalena, with a spectacular view of the Odle peaks.
- Continue towards the Bühlerhof farm. From here, follow the paved road.
- Sonnenweg (Sun Trail). Turn left and cross the meadows along the so-called Sonnenweg, a panoramic stretch offering idyllic views of the valley.
- Return. Reach the paved road again, turn left and return to the starting point.
