The MTB Gran Jú Tour is the perfect itinerary for anyone wishing to explore the most authentic side of Val Badia without tackling demanding elevation gains. Thanks to the Pedagà cable car, which allows bikes to be transported, the route becomes accessible even to less experienced riders, leaving plenty of room to enjoy the surrounding landscape.
A comfortable ascent to Piz de Plaies
The tour starts at the valley station of the Pedagà/Piz de Plaies gondola in San Vigilio di Marebbe. In just a few minutes you reach Jú / Col dl’Ancona, a natural viewpoint overlooking the Dolomites and the ideal place to begin your ride. Those looking for a more athletic approach can start directly from the village, near the church of San Vigilio, and climb up to Jú via the traditional Sarjei farmstead.
Towards Gran Jú and down to Piccolino
From the rural hamlet of Gran Jú, a small alpine gem surrounded by meadows, the route continues downhill along a paved road leading to Piccolino (Picculin). It’s a pleasant stretch, perfect for enjoying the scenery and descending with ease.
Scenic return to San Vigilio
From Piccolino, follow the Val Badia state road towards Longega and then back to San Vigilio di Marebbe. The return is smooth and relaxing, an ideal way to conclude the tour at your own pace.
