Starting from Telves di Sopra (1,258 m), near the village fountain, the hike follows the signs âTelfer Almenâ and âFreundalmâ. The trail begins among traditional Tyrolean farmsteads up to Kappelerhof (1,353 m), then continues on a wide, groomed hiking and sledding track, ideal also for families.
The ascent is gentle and steady, crossing snowy meadows and quiet forests with a moderate slope towards the northwest. In the final stretch, the path opens onto wide panoramic fields leading directly to the Freundalm hut (1,720 m). Here the atmosphere is authentic: a mountain refuge where you can enjoy typical South Tyrolean dishes such as cheese, speck, and traditional desserts.
The return follows the same route, with the option to walk back or enjoy a fun descent by sled on the groomed track.
