The Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina 2026 were the most successful ever for Italy. The Azzurri finished 4th in the medal table with 30 medals in total: 10 golds, 6 silvers, and 14 bronzes. Italy had never won so many medals at the Winter Games, surpassing the previous record set in Lillehammer 1994 (20 medals).
On the penultimate day of competition, three medals were won: gold and silver in skicross by Simone Deromedis and Federico Tomasoni, and bronze in men’s mass start speed skating by Andrea Giovannini.
The first Italian medals came the day after the opening ceremony in the downhill, with silver and bronze for Giovanni Franzoni and Dominik Paris.
