On 23 May 2009, the new Renon cable car was inaugurated, replacing the previous cable car installed in 1966. The cable car starts in the centre of Bolzano and arrives in Soprabolzano, just above the 1,000 m altitude difference separating the two villages.
The installation of the travel cabins has made it possible to drastically shorten the time; in fact, it takes only 12 minutes to reach the top of the plateau.

SINGLE TICKETS
One-way Renon cable car: €8
Return Renon cable car: €13
COMBINED TICKET
One-way cable car + Renon train: €12
Return cable car + Renon train: €20
DAY PASS AND MOBILCARDS
The Mobilcard is available for 1, 3, or 7 consecutive calendar days. For children between 6 and 13 years, the Mobilcard Junior is available at a discounted rate.
Mobilcard 1 day: adults €20 / children €10
Mobilcard 3 days: adults €30 / children €15
Mobilcard 7 days: adults €50 / children €25
Other valid tickets include: Alto Adige Guest Pass, Euregio 2 Plus, and Alto Adige Pass.
PET TRANSPORT
Small pets carried in a bag or carrier are considered luggage and travel for free.
Pets not in a carrier may travel with one of the following tickets:
Single ticket: €2
Day ticket: €3.50
Dogs are not allowed to occupy seats; they must be kept on a leash and wear a muzzle, except for small pets (see above).
BICYCLE TRANSPORT
The Renon cable car also transports bicycles.
The transport fee is €7 per bicycle.
This is a day ticket, meaning the bicycle can also be transported on other public transport services that allow bike transport.
INFORMATION
Children under 6 years travel free.
The Renon cable car is accessible for wheelchair users.
It is not possible to reserve tickets or seats.
The Alto Adige Guest Pass RittenCard includes travel on all public transport in South Tyrol.
TIMETABLE BOLZANO – SOPRABOLZANO
The Renon cable car connects the provincial capital Bolzano with Soprabolzano.
A cabin departs every 4–12 minutes from the Bolzano and Soprabolzano stations.
