The Unterstell cable car is located just a few metres from the Merano High Route. In 10 minutes it climbs from 550m to an altitude of 1300m on the Texel Group Nature Park. Until the end of March 2024, the cable car will be out of service due to the mandatory 20-year overhaul.
At the mountain station of the cable car, there are various attractions for young and old, as well as a dense network of trails of all difficulties. The youngest can have fun at the playground equipped with a trampoline, sandpit, slides, climbing facilities and a climbing wall.
The new attraction is the viewing platform that can be reached in 10 minutes on foot from the cable car. The platform is 16 metres long and the highest point is 50 metres. Up to 50 people can enjoy a panoramic view from the Meran basin to the mountains of the Ortler group.
For climbing enthusiasts, there are two via ferratas to try:
- the KNOTT training and family ferrata located on the rock on which the viewing platform is anchored. A total of four via ferratas, a short connecting route, a 20-metre-long suspension bridge and two steep metal ladders develop on the 'KNOTT'. Here you can climb and train to your heart's content. Simple routes, difficult passages, exposed and technical sections. At any time of day, as the access and descent sections are short.
- the HOACHWOOL - Ferrata Monte Sole Naturno, which crosses the old irrigation channel from the Schnalstal valley to Naturno. A truly impressive, diverse and very challenging half-day route.
