One of the most scenic routes on the Piné Plateau, perfect for hikers who enjoy medium‑difficulty trails and want to immerse themselves in the quiet forests and wide‑open views of the Val di Cembra. The trek connects Bedollo and Regnana with the higher elevations of the Monte Croce group, crossing mountain huts, pastures and wild valleys such as the Val dell’Inferno, one of the most fascinating and least‑visited areas of the region.
Route Description
The hike starts near Regnana (1215 m), along the provincial road to Passo Redebus, a classic access point for excursions toward Stramaiolo and Campivel. A comfortable forest road gradually leads into the heart of the Val dell’Inferno, where the forest opens into clearings and panoramic viewpoints over the surrounding peaks.
Reaching Malga Stramaiolo (1678 m), you enter one of the most characteristic environments of the plateau: wide alpine meadows, open views and the chance for a refreshing break. From here, the trail no. 443 climbs toward Passo Campivel (1831 m), a privileged viewpoint over the Brenta Dolomites and the Lagorai mountain chain.
The route may continue to the nearby Rifugio Tonini, one of the most beloved destinations for local hikers, or head directly toward Monte Croce, whose summit offers a 360° panorama over Piné, Val di Cembra and the alpine ranges framing eastern Trentino.
The descent follows the same route, returning to Regnana along the forest road.
