Our apartments „Tirol“ (36 m² for 2 – 4 persons), „Alpen“ (35 m² for 2 – 3 persons) und „Kronplatz“ (153 m² for 2 – 10 persons, handicaped accessible) are furnished with local wood and equipped with satellite TV and free WI-FI. A city/ski bus stop is nearby. The peace and garden around the house offer ideal conditions for families with children and promise a recreative holiday in South Tyrol. Pets are welcome! Our house is an ideal starting point for walking-tours in the surroundings of Bruneck or mountain hiking in the close valleys of Val Aurina, Val Gardena and Alta Val Pusteria where the fabulous settings of the mountains Rieserferner, Dolomits and Tre Cime di Lavaredo are waiting for you. From Bruneck a bicycle lane leads to Lienz in Eastern Tyrol in Austria. Motorbikers are fascinated of the numerous passes of the Val Pusteria and its nearby valleys. In winter you are going to find different cross-country ski runs and toboggan runs in the surroundings of Bruneck. Who is interested in the peasant life of the country can reach the South Tyrolean Folklore Museum at Dietenheim in a couple of minutes of walking distance from the apartments Gartner. At the museum you can see how bred is baked in wood ovens and how people used to live in quaint local farmhouses. The small city of Bruneck with its 16.000 inhabitants is located in the centre of the Val Pusteria and was named more than once in the last years “happiest little township of Italy“ because of its quality of life, educational level, culture and environmental consciousness. Living in Bruneck is a pleasure: In the central road, which forms the historical core of the city, the antique burgeois houses built in the 13th century are strung together. It was in this period that the castle and the city of Bruneck were built by the prince-bishop Bruno von Kirchberg. Nowadays the castle of Bruneck and the nearby Kronplatz host two of the famous mountain museums led by the renowned South Tyrolean alpinist Reinhold Messner. Sport fans will love the new climbing-centre of Bruneck, the civic ice-stadium and the swimming centre “Cron 4” at Reischach. In the farmer’s market and Christmas market of Bruneck farmers and tradespeople offer their homemade articles. In the lovely coffee bars of Bruneck you can enjoy local treats such as apple strudel with custard and cream.
