Bolzano, the city of wine - cover
Bolzano, the city of wine

Bolzano is one of the Italian cities with the highest quality of life and among the most sustainable in Europe. Beyond this achievement, it preserves a unique heritage: two indigenous grape varieties, Schiava and Lagrein, which have told its story and tradition for centuries.

With 28 wineries, mostly family-run, the city carries forward with passion and innovation one of its most authentic symbols: wine. A historic crossroads between Italy and Europe, Bolzano is today a dynamic, cultural hub rich in events, where wine tradition meets modernity.

In this brochure, we invite you to discover this fascinating side of the city, nestled in a basin and surrounded by the Dolomites, a territory whose unique geographical and climatic conditions provide the ideal environment for high-quality viticulture.

Hikes in Bolzano

Bolzano is a mosaic of history and vitality, yet just a few steps away from the city center you can immerse yourself in the restorative silence of nature, leaving all tension behind.

Outside the center, you will find numerous restorative walks, such as the REBE Wine Trail and the Virgolo promenade, which extend along the slopes of the Hill south of the city, offering direct contact with greenery and highly scenic landscapes.

Also particularly impressive are the Sant’Osvaldo and Guncina walks, which rise about one hundred meters above the city: a route that begins with a gentle ascent, softened by a series of hairpin bends, and then becomes almost flat, offering a magnificent view over Bolzano and the surrounding mountains.
