On Tuesday, 27 January 2026, Bressanone will experience a historic moment: the Olympic flame will arrive in the city as part of the official torch relay for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. A unique opportunity to feel the energy and values of the Olympics up close.
Welcome in Piazza Duomo
Starting at 3:30 PM, the Municipality of Bressanone and the Tourist Cooperative warmly invite residents, guests, and sports enthusiasts to gather in Piazza Duomo to welcome the Olympic torch. A collective celebration designed to share the Olympic spirit and honour one of the most iconic symbols of the Games.
The square will come alive with a rich programme of activities for all ages:
- Distribution of flags and the official Olympic mascot
- Official greetings from the mayor and deputy mayor
- Interviews with Olympic athletes from Bressanone
- A festive atmosphere and strong community participation
The most emotional moment of the day will be the arrival of the Olympic flame in Piazza Duomo. Carrying it will be a true skiing legend: Kristian Ghedina, an exceptional torchbearer, who will cross the square with the torch, bringing a powerful moment of symbolism and sporting pride to the city.
