Highlights

From Bec de Roces mountain hut: a 360° panoramic view of the Dolomites

In the heart of the Ladinia area, the Bec de Roces mountain hut is in a strategic position from which you can admire a splendid 360° panoramic view of the imposing Belluno and Trentino Dolomites. From left to right you will be see: the Sassongher, the Sas d'la Crusc, the Piz de Lavarella, the Conturines, the Tofana di Mezzo, the Tofana de Rozes, the Settsass and the Punta Sorapiss, the Col di Lana, Monte Pelmo and the Civetta, Porta Vescovo and the Marmolada and, finally, the Pizboè

The zone is one of the stops of the magnificent Sellaronda, the most renowned ski tour around Monte Sella, which stretches for over 40 km through woods, rocky ground and snow covered expanses. The circuit passes through the 4 Ladinia valleys: Fassa, Gardena, Alta Badia and Livinallongo and it can be covered in both directions: clockwise (from Alta Badia to Arabba) or counter clockwise (from Alta Badia to Val Gardena). From the refuge, you can start the trip in either direction.

For an unforgettable trip there are many activities to enjoy, both in winter and summer. During the winter season you can enjoy the thrill of 62 km of perfectly snow clad ski runs and modern ski lifts. There are numerous pistes for lovers of both alpine and cross country skiing. A snow shoe excursion is another ideal way to explore the lovely Dolomite scenery, crossing both wooded areas and grasslands. During the summer, the mountains are as lovely as in winter: new places to discover and old ones to revisit, with their green summer covering. The refuge is the starting place for high altitude excursions to Pordoi Pass, Vallon, and PizBoè, or the arrival point for gentle walks from Campolongo to Arabba.

For mountain bike lovers, a high altitude bike ride is an experience you cannot miss. Bikers can take their bikes on the ski lifts and go down specially equipped routes. MTB guides from Arabba are available. Climbing and iron paths are perfect for adventurous types. Close to the refuge are the Bec de Roces cliffs with more than 20 specially equipped paths for everyone, from amateurs to experts. Finally, while parents are relaxing on the external terrace, taking in the scenery or strolling around the lake, the kids can have fun in the playground and getting to know the animals in the miniature farm.

Rifugio Bec de Roces

The Bec de Roces mountain hut can be found at the foot of the Sella mountain, in the Arabba area of Livinallongo in Col di Lana and offers restaurant service. Overnight stays are only possible during the summer season.

Situated on a tranquil location on the Sellaronda circuit, it’s the perfect place for ski and snowboard lovers. During the summer, it’s the starting point for high altitude excursions, mountain bike and climbing outings. Those who don't care for sports can enjoy gentle walks around the lake or the splendid view of the Dolomites from the terrace.

In the restaurant's welcoming dining room, you can savour delicious Ladinia specialties, or pizza if you prefer. Self-service is also available on request and you can rent out the barbecue too.

The refuge has two bars, one indoors and one outdoors, where delicious breakfasts, sandwiches and fast snacks are served.

The refuge is ideally suited to winter sports lovers, with Ski service available. Furthermore, children can have fun in the playground.

The structure is easily accessible from the Campolongo Pass, either via the chairlift or on foot (30 minutes) or else from Corvara by the Boè gondola. All-terrain vehicles are available on request for people with disabilities.
