Valdaora: sport, wellness and tradition

Valdaora is surrounded by the Braies Dolomites and by the Vedrette di Ries, and its good position allows to reach easily as much as 6 valleys in South Tyrol. It lies at the foot of the legendary Plan de Corones and together with its hamlets Valdaora di Sopra, di Mezzo, di Sotto and Sorafurcia it is able to meet everyone's requirements.

There are many children-friendly hotels, and furthermore children can have fun in the playgrounds, in the swimming pool or doing easy summer hikes. In winter, specialized skilled instructors take care of them on the slopes.

 

Sportsmen spending their holidays in Valdaora can hike, climb in the indoor boulder practice wall, play golf, do rafting, hydrospeed, horse riding and nordic walking in the Nature Fitness Park.
And then go by bike or mountain-bike: there are 14 itineraries in the area, offering bike rental services and bike shuttles to reach the starting point of the tours.

In winter, the area is a paradise for downhill run and cross country skiers, lying close to the Plan de Corones area, for snowshoers and for those who like walking and skiing in the moonlight.

Don't forget the traditional flavours and the typical atmosphere of local festivals and events, such as the wine event Vinissima nel parco, and the Krapfen festival. Admire the music bands and traditional clothes while strolling and shopping among wood products and gold handworks.
