The Val Rendena valley, crossed by the Sarca river, is located in the north-west section of Trentino, between Adamello to the west and the Brenta Dolomites to the east. The valley is divided into twelve municipalities full of history, art and traditions. The Adamello-Brenta Natural Park hides breathtaking landscapes and natural treasures, and in this area you can practice many outdoor activities the whole year round. The Val Rendena valley lies in the heart of the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park, featuring many natural attractions and a large varieties of animal and plant species. If you are looking for somewhere quiet and peaceful to relax, this is the place to go. The territory of the park includes the Presanella, the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello, rich of waterfalls and tarns created by the melting of the glaciers. Among the best attractions: the Vallesinella waterfalls, the mountain peak Campanile Basso and the Via delle Bocchette, a trekking trail winding through the Brenta Dolomites; two wonderful tarns, San Giuliano Lake and Garzonè Lake, both at the end of a secondary valley of the famous Val Genova, a natural paradise where you can admire the Nardis waterfalls. Worth a visit are also the glaciers Mandrone and Lobbie on the mountain group Adamello Presanella.

Many are the outdoor activities you can practice in this area. The valley, with the two ski centers of Doss del Sabion and Madonna di Campiglio-Folgarida-Marilleva, is perfect for downhill and cross-country skiing, ski mountaineering and snowboarding, but also snowshoeing and ice skating. In summer the many wonderful trekking trails, some developing at high altitudes, attract many tourists. If you like cycling, the cycle track running along the Sarca river across the valley is perfect for tours in the nature with the whole family. Moreover, the Dolomiti di Brenta Bike suggests a selection of mountain bike trails suitable for everyone. There are also sport facilities: football fields, leisure centers and an ice rink. Golf lovers can play at the courses of Campo Carlo Magno and Rendena.

The villages scattered in the valley are full of art, culture and traditions. Here in fact you can admire many frescoes by the Baschenis, and examples of religious architecture and art in Pinzolo, especially in the Chiesa di San Vigilio. For an in-depth exploration of local traditions, visit the Museo della Malga in Caderzone and the Antica Vetreria in Carisolo. Traditional events you can't miss: the Habsburg Carnival of Madonna di Campiglio and the Agriculture Feast in Caderzone, dedicated to rural life and to the Rendena cow breed.
