Val Gardena has been chosen by the FIS as the official Italian candidate to host the 2029 Alpine Ski World Championships. Having defeated Sestriere with 8 out of 2 votes by ten delegates, Val Gardena will be able to advance its candidature, focusing on priority aspects such as sustainability and innovation, such as, for example, saving resources and using mainly existing infrastructures.
Every year Val Gardena hosts two Alpine Ski World Cup races in December: Super-G and men's downhill.
