Christmas Market in Trento

Trento will host the well-known Christmas Market in the charming Piazza Fiera. About 500,000 visitors come every year to admire the 90 stands displaying gift ideas and food. Among the highlights: local specialties, exhibitions and side events.

Trento Christmas Markets: the products

The exhibitors of the Christmas Market in Trento come from Trentino, South Tyrol and different regions of  Northern Italy: this proves the importance gained by the market in the last years. Here you will find a broad range of handicrafts, such as Christmas decorations, candles, nativity scenes, pictures with pressed flowers, but also an excellent gift packaging service, as well as 16 stands with the Market Flavors, a real gourmet paradise where you can taste sweet and salty specialties from Trentino and Alto Adige, such as Tortel de patate, Cevap from Valle dei Mocheni, Knödeln (dumplings) and pastries, to enjoy with some hot chocolate, mulled wine or Parampampoli.

How to get there

By car: from the A22 Brennero Modena motorway, from the state highway 47 (Valsugana highway) for those coming from Venice and from the Gardesana Occidentale state road 45 bis for those coming from Brescia and Lake Garda, exit at Trento Nord or at the Trento Sud toll booth and take the city ring road, following the signs for the historic center.

By train: Brenner railway line and Valsugana line from Venice. The reference stop is that of Trento. Daily connections are available to Munich, Bolzano, Verona, Venice, Rome and Naples. From the central station you reach the historic center in 5 minutes on foot.

By plane: the nearest airports are Verona (90 km), Brescia (165 km), Venice (155 km), Treviso (130 km), Milan (250 km), Bergamo (200 km) and Bologna (225 km ).

By bus: Trento is connected to all the towns in the province by a bus service. There is also a direct multi-week connection between Trento and some European cities (Prague, Vienna, Innsbruck, Salzburg, Ceske Budejovice), while, at certain times of the year, the same service is provided to some Italian cities. The bus station is located in via Pozzo, a hundred meters from the train station.

Where to park

On the occasion of the event, the exhibition center of Trento Fiere offers a parking of 250 seats, open from Monday to Friday from 7.00 am to 8.00 pm and from Friday to Sunday from 9.00 am to 8.30 pm.
