Snow tubing

Snow tubing is a new and exciting way to have fun on the snow, and doesn't require any particular equipment. It is similar to sledding, and simulates a rafting descent. People descend sitting on a single or double-seater tube along a protected slope, similar to a bobsleigh track, covered with snow instead of ice.

Due to the parabolic curves, to the lateral snow walls preventing snow tubers to fall out of the track, to the moderate speed and to the low danger, snow tubing is very suitable for children. Anyway, adults too enjoy this activity.
Many snowparks for children are equipped for this kind of sport. Normally, the track is served by a small motorized towline towing tubes and passengers to the top of the hill. Some of them are also floodlit and allow night descents.

Here are some areas where you can try snow tubing: in Val di Fassa (the Slide Park of Alba di Canazei) and on Monte Bondone in the region of Trentino; in Plan de Corones, Alta Pusteria, and Val d'Ultimo in the region of Alto Adige.
