The side valleys of the holiday area of Passo Resia in Alta Val Venosta are a true paradise for those who love mountaineering and off-piste skiing. At the foot of the imposing Ötztal Alps, the idyllic Val Roja and Vallunga offer itineraries for all far from the ski slopes, in unspoiled nature.
In Val Roja there are many routes to be taken, including the Dosso di Fuori, not too demanding, or the Cima di Grion in the innermost part of the valley, which requires a lot of experience and training. In Vallunga, mountaineering fans can try their hand at a nice hike to the Cima Salèz or the Glockhauser in the southern part. The northern part offers excursions with or without glaciers, such as the one at the Cima Pian de Lago above St. Valentin.
For those who want to go off-piste, please remember that experience, knowledge of the place, suitable equipment and information on weather and snow conditions is required. For those who practice mountaineering, you can take part in guided tours offered by the local mountain guide Josef Plangger (cellphone + 39 349 007 57 21)
